The catalytic cycle of an enzyme action can be described in the following steps: 1. The active site of the enzyme, in close proximity of the substrate breaks the chemical bonds of the substrate and the new enzyme- product complex is formed. 2. The binding of the substrate induces the enzyme to alter its shape, fitting more tightly around the substrate. 3. The substrate binds to the active site of the enzyme, fitting into the active site. 4. The enzyme releases the products of the reaction and the free enzyme is ready to bind to another molecule of the substrate and run through the catalytic cycle once again. The correct sequence of steps is --------------
1-2-4-3
3-2-1-4
1-2-3-4
4-3-1-2

4) Part of enzyme where substrate molecules gets attached is known as active site. On attachment it forms enzyme substrate complex.

3) Induced-fit model stated that when the substrate comes in contact with the active site, the active site modulates according to the shape of the substrate to form a enzyme substrate complex.

2) Active site of enzyme is in close proximity of substrate and breaks the chemical bonds of substrate.

1) Enzyme releases products of reaction and the enzyme is free to bind to another substrate.
