the cause of periodicity in the periodic table is the repetition of similar..... after certain regular intervals.

The periodic table is not just a revolution.
It has passed the failed experiment of several scientist.
A trend was followed to find elements that show same properties after a regular interval.
The first to find a sequence was Dobereiner.
After him Newland tried.
At last but not the least Mendeleev found out a better version of the sequence.
Though there were some anomalies.
But they were focusing on the atomic mass which was not the perfect medium to make a sequence.
Later on the note of Moseley - Bohr made a table based on atomic no. and it has been found that the elements repeats their property after a regular interval, I.e. it shows periodicity.
