The causes of French Revolution lay in the society itself. This is because the Revolution in France of 1789, was caused by the people of France itself. They did this in order to reclaim their long lost rights and status. If they were given their rights and equality then they wont have done revolution. Similarly, the Liberal Revolution of 1848, was caused by the middle class educated elites only. This time the ideology of liberalism came to be seen closely allied with the ideologies of nationalism.
