Homeostasis is the process of cells in maintaining the optimum temperature and pH for carrying out viable activities within our body and entire systems.
yes the cell maintains it , and if the cell fails to maintain it ,it looses its action and goes on dividing proliferately leading to metastasis(cancer) which is just the opposite to homeostasis.

The water wants to flow from the higher concentration, which is outside of the cell, to the lower concentration, which is inside of the cell. The cell membrane helps to regulate and slow down the flow of water into the cell. This is yet another way that the cell membrane helps maintain homeostasis.
