# Explanation-
When cellulose(wood pulp) is dissolved in sodium hydroxide and carbon disulfide is added, the result is viscous syrup called cellulose xanthate.
- Acid bath changes cellulose xanthase back to cellulose.

# Use :-
The reaction is used for production of textile fibres-
1)the syrup is forced into acid solution through small holes to produce rayon fibres
2)the syrup is forced into acid solution through slits to produce cellophane sheets.
