The coordinates of the center of mass are :

Given :

• The center of mass is defined as a point on the straight line between two objects with masses m1 and m2.

• We know that, centre of mass can be found simply by adding all products of mass of each object to their respective coordinate divided by total mass.

• Let us suppose coordinates of m2 and m2 be (x1 , y1, z1) and (x2 , y2, z2) respectively.

X coordinate of centre of mass,

X = m1x1 + m2x2 / m1 + m2

Similarly,

Y coordinate = m1y1 + m2y2 / m1 + m2

Z coordinate = m1z1 + m2z2 / m1 + m2
