There are problems and in my view the major problem is , Women in India are not enough financially independent and somewhere they themselves are responsible for this ! We need to change the overall mind set. I often tell women that if they have to stand for themselves and if they really talk about gender equality, then they also need to think about earning equally a guy is earning.

There are couple of problems

Dowry :- Women should be self sufficient in terms of earning money, instead of searching for a rich well settled guy and questioning about their package at the time of marriage, the women herself must be earning that much and must be equally capable and then if she is expecting something it can be still accepted. This will stop the culture of taking dowry in our society. My only view in this part is we all talk about dowry which is a black hole in our society. Are we doing anything in that matter being feminist won’t help it , unless until we work towards it. Asking a guy about his package and deciding weather to marry him or not based on their package makes them to think that even taking dowry is justifiable, since the girl is also thinking about his package and better life ! Still I don’t support dowry. However, I strongly believe that we need to take bold and constructive steps towards it and which is only to become financially independent!Gender Equality :- The feeling of gender equality starts right from your family. In today’s world most of the families treat their children equally boy or a girl. When I talk about treat equally I definitely emphasis on the education and extra curriculum part. I think gender equality in true sense would be telling a female child that her career and independence is as important as his brother’s. That will solve a lot of problem why always pressurizing men for a better life, why not women too! And of course the sense of house hold responsibility would definitely be a men’s job too , once equality comes in the sense of working and earning.Rape Laws :- Now this one is a serious problem that women faces in day to day life, Women’s safety and strict Laws. The Justice system needs to be changed and the laws must be so strict that men doing such crime never should imagine that ! There should be more fast track courts for such cases, if women are well aware they will not be ashamed after being raped and would definitely fight for it, register an FIR and if courts are fast tracked then they can atleast trust the judicial system of our country. More often police patrolling should be there so that women feels safe. Most of the company should provide safe late night cabs with escorts and I think most of the companies are now doing it! However, I always feel that its really challenging to change few men’s mentality who are rapists and only the fear for penalty , heavy punishment would stop them.Vulnerable Feeling : I think today’s women needs to change their thinking and stop playing the vulnerable gender role. Sometimes we women try to gain sympathy and always feels that hard part of work is men’s responsibility. However, women if they talk about gender equality and empowerment it should be in a fair way and the moment we stop playing the weaker gender role, country will change their views. Every women must undergo the training for self defense if they really feel that they have to deal with lots of tough situation day to day basis! Stop getting scared from the rapists that would also change a lot of thing!

✳️➡️The culture and tradition of India is considered as old and great all over the world where people used to worship various female goddesses, saints and poets. India is also a powerful nation and famous worldwide for being the largest democracy in the world however, women backwardness is also very clear in the Indian society because of the social issues, problems and lots of restrictions against women. Women belong to the lower and middle class family suffers more than the women of higher class family. Women in the Indian society generally face problems of sex discrimination, high percentage of illiteracy, female infanticide, dowry system, etc.
