Explanation:

1.In Mendeleev's periodic table elements were arranged accaording to their atomic masses,

the whole masses of nickel and cobalt was same therefore there was mistake regarding their position.

2.Isomers have same atomic number but different atomic masses so their was no space to place them in Mendeleev's periodic table.

Due to above reasons the change over from Mendeleev to modern periodic table was necessary.
