we are Able to see distant objects clearly because our eye can focus on the images of the distant objects as well as nearby objects on it's retina(image is always formed on retina)by changing the focal length of it's lens. The focal length of the eye lens is changed by the action of ciliary muscles.

The change that occur in the eye or adjusting the eye to see the distant object clearly is known to be accommodation.

Explanation:

  • The accommodation process happens in the eye, to see the distant object clearly.
  • It makes the retina to adjust the position in order to locate the distantly located object.
  • This process possible by lens changing the shape. Hence the optic of the eye keep the object on the focus on the retina.
  • The increase in refractive power occurs, then the ciliary muscles controls the lens tightens and relax.
