The changing faces of our villages
Answers
Answer:
Our country is a land of villages. Seventy per cent of the population of our country lives in villages. The progress and development of our country cannot be imagined without making concerted efforts to improve a lot of villagers and the quality of life in the villages. The architects of modern India took note of the backwardness and horrifying conditions that gripped our villages in the past. As a result of the integrated rural development schemes. The condition of a large number of villages has changed significantly. No longer do the bane of mass illiteracy the devil of superstition, untouchability, and the snares of the village money –lenders afflict the lives of our villagers. The frequent visits of the epidemic to our villages are a story of the past. Some villages in our country have changed so much that it is difficult to guess what they might have been like some years ago.
Only recently, I saw the changing face of a village in the district of Western Uttar Pradesh. I was really amazed to see this village. The village lay about 6 Kms. From the bus station on the national highway. My friend had come to receive me. I went to his village on his tractor which sped fast on a pucca road. The bullock-carts seen on the way were different than that of the past.
