Given :

Charge density (σ) = e / π

To Find :

The electric field intensity at a nearby point

Solution :

  • Electric field intensity = σ / 2ε₀

                                    = e / 2πε₀

  • We know the value of  1/4πε₀ is 9×10⁹

           1/4πε₀ = 9×10⁹

          1/2πε₀ is 18×10⁹

  • E = e / 2πε₀
  • E = 1.6×10⁻¹⁹ × 18×10⁹
  • E = 28.8 ×10⁻¹⁰
  • E = 2.88 × 10⁻⁹ V/m

The electric field intensity at any nearby point is 2.88 × 10⁻⁹ V/m
