We calculate the relative speed.

The relative speed of approaching bodies is the sum of the two speeds.

In this case it will be:

62 + 20 = 72km/h

We convert this to m/s as follows :

72 × 5/18 = 20m/s

The relative distance is 200m.

Time = Distance /speed

200/20 = 10 seconds

The time is thus 10 seconds

Answer:8.78 sec

Explanation:

Length of train = 200 m

speed of train = 62 km/hr

speed of person = 20 km/hr

1) Convert km/hr into m/s :-

62 km/hr = 62 x5/18= 17.22 m/s

20 km/hr = 20 x5/18= 5.55 m/s

Relative speed (opposite direction mean Add) :- RS:- 17.22 + 5.55 = 22.77 m/s

Speed =Distance/Time

22.77=200/Time

Time= 200/22.77

Time =8.78 sec
