The child was running towards the shrine in order to find his mother and father sobbing bitterly when suddenly he  

was noticed by the narrator. If he might not have been noticed then he may have been kidnapped or nabbed by  

someone as we cannot say that there can be some people who are in a bad intention. Indeed he saw people with heavy

bodies and murderous eyes.

The narrator took pity on him and tried hard to satisfy him by buying him sweets and flower garlands and balloons  

which he took no interest. The bold request he wanted to make from his parents was also offered by narrator but

he cried and only wanted his mother and father.

This is based on the chapter ' THE LOST CHILD'.
