the circles in the given image are identical. If the area of the red region is 42 cm2 , what is the diameter of the circles (in cm)? (Take = 22/7)

Answer:

As circle is inscribed in the square,the circle will touch the walls of square such that the length of side of square will be same as diameter of circle, ie. Diameter= d =42 cm.

Radius of circle=r=d/2=21cm.

Hence area of circle = π×r^2 = 3.14 ×21^2= 1384.74 cm sq.
