The circumference of a circle exeeds the diameter by 14 

c = 14 +diameter

we know that 

diameter  = 2 *r 

so ,

c = 14 +2r

now,

circumference = 22/7 * r *2

=>44/7 * r

so,

44r/7 = 14 + 2r

44r/7 - 2r = 14

44r- 14r/7  = 14

30r/7 = 14

r = 14*7/30

r =  3.26 

radius = 3.26cm

now area of the circle

=> 22/7 * r²

=>22/7 * 3.26 *3.26

=> 33.40 cm²
