circumference of circle = 2πr
31.4=2×3.14×r
31.4=6.28r
r=31.4÷6.28
r=5cm
area of circle=πr²
area=3.14×5×5
area= 78.5cm²

The radius and the area of the circle is 5 cm and 78.5 sq.cm respectively.

Step-by-step explanation:

Circumference of circle = 2 \pi r

We are given that the circumference of a circle is 31.4 cm .

So,  2 \pi r=31.4

2 \times 3.14 \times r=31.4

r=\frac{31.4}{2 \times 3.14}

r=5

Area of circle = \pi r^2

Area of circle = 3.14 \times 5^2

Area of circle = 78.5 cm^2

Hence the radius and the area of the circle is 5 cm and 78.5 sq.cm respectively.
