We know that Circumference of a circle is 2πr, where r is the radius of the circle. Hence the radius of the compact disk ( CD ) is 4.5 cm.

Solution:

Circumference = 28.26cm

Radius = ?

C = 2πr

r = C/2π

r = 28.26/2 × 22/7

r = 28.26/44/7

r = 28.26×7/44

r = 197.82/44

r = 4.5cm

Therefore, radius of a compact disc is 4.5cm.

Additional Information:

Circumference of a sircle = 2πr

Area of a circle = πr^2

Area of an ellipse (axes a,b) = πab

Surface of sphere = 4π r^2

Volume of a cylinder = πr^2 h.
