let diameter of the circle be 'd' cm
circumference \: of \: a \: circle \\ exceeds \: the \: diameter \: by \: \frac{16}{8}

i.e \: it \: exceeds \: by \: 2cm
CIRCUMFERENCE=DIAMETER +2cm

we \: know \: that

circumference = \pi d
\pi d = d + 2cm

 \frac{22}{7} \times d = d + 2cm

 \frac{22d}{7} = d + 2cm

22d = 7(d + 2)

22d = 7d + 14

22d - 7d = 14

15d = 14

d = \frac{14}{15}

d = 0.94cm

circumference = \pi d

 = \frac{22}{7}<br /> \times 0.94

 = 22 \times 0.134

 = 2.94cm

THEREFORE,
THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE CIRCLE IS 2.94 cm.

hope \: this \: helps
