I hope this is right and you understand it. If this is right like...............................................
LSA=Lateral Surface Area
LSA=2πrh(because circumference=2πrh)
=176×40
=7040cm sq.

<b>Heya mate. ^_^. Solution below
====================================

<u>Your Question -</u>

The circumference of the base of a cylinder is 176 cm and it's height is 40 cm. The lateral surface area of a cylinder is ?

<u>Solution -</u>

Circumference (c) of the base of cylinder = 2πr = 176

Height (h) of the cylinder = 40 cm

So, lateral surface area (L.S.A) of the cylinder
= 2πrh
= (2πr) × h
= c × h
= 176 × 40
= 7040 cm²

Hence, the lateral (curved) surface area = 7040 cm²

Thank you. ;-)
