the circumference of the base of a cylinder is 88 cm and its height is 60 cm find the volume and curved surface area of the cylinder

Given Circumference of the base = 88cm

Given height = 60cm

As we know that

Circumference = 2πr

Therefore,

2πr = 88

2  \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times r = 88 \\  \\   \frac{44}{7} r = 88 \\  \\ r = 88 \times  \frac{7}{44}  \\  \\ r = 2 \times 7 \\  \\ r = 14cm

Now radius (r) = 14

Therefore

Curved Surface Area = 2πrh

Now, 2πr = 88 (Circumference)

=> 88 × h

=> 88 × 60

=> 5280 cm^2


volume \: of \: cylinder \:  = \pi r {}^{2} h \\  \\  \frac{22}{7}  \times  {14}^{2}  \times 60 \\  \\  \frac{22}{7}  \times 196 \times 60 \\  \\ 22 \times 28 \times 60 \\  \\ 36960 \: cm {}^{3}
