Given:-

  • Height,h = 30 cm

  • The circumference of the base of a cylindrical vessel = 176 cm

To find out:-

How many litres of water can it hold?

Formula used:-

  • Circumference of the base = 2πr

  • Volume of the right circular cylinder = πr²h

Solution:-

Circumference of the base = 2 × π × r

⇒ 176 = 2 × 22/7 × r

⇒ 176 = 44/7 × r

⇒ r = 176 × 7 / 44

⇒ r = 28 cm

Now,

Volume of the right circular cylinder = π × r² × h

★ Substituting the values in the above formula,we get:

= 22/7 × ( 28 )² × 30

= 22/7 × 28 × 28 × 30

⇒ 22 × 4 × 28 × 30

⇒ 73920 cm³

We know,

1000 cm³ = 1 L

⇒ 73920/1000 L

⇒ 73.92 L

Hence,it can hold 73.92 litres of water.

✰✰ ANSWER ✰✰

  • Circumference of Vessel = 176 cm
  • Height = 30 cm

Now ,

Using Formula : -

\implies\tt{\small{\boxed{\bold{\bold{\green{\sf{Circumference\:of\:Base=2\pi{r}}}}}}}}

Putting Values : -

\implies\tt{176=2\times\dfrac{22}{7}\times{r}}

\implies\tt{176\times{7}=2\times{22}\times{r}}

\implies\tt{1232=44r}

\implies\tt{r=\cancel\dfrac{1232}{44}}

\red\longmapsto\:\large\underline{\boxed{\bf\green{r}\orange{=}\purple{28}}}

So , The radius is 28cm..

Now ,

Using Formula : -

\implies\tt{\small{\boxed{\bold{\bold{\orange{\sf{Volume\:of\:Cylinder=\pi{{r}^{2}h}}}}}}}}

Putting Values : -

\implies\tt{\dfrac{22}{7}\times{28}\times{28}\times{30}}

\implies\tt{22\times{4}\times{28}\times{30}}

\implies\tt{73920{cm}^{3}}

So , The volume is 73920 cm³...

As we know : -

\implies\tt{1000{cm}^{3}=1L}

So ,

\implies\tt{\dfrac{73920}{1000}}

\implies\tt{73.920L}

So , The vessel can hold 73.920 L of Water.
