Circumference  = 2×π×r =308 cm

                 h  = 40 cm

             ∴ CSA = 2πr×h

                          =308×40

                          =12320cm²

The curved surface area of the cylinder is 12320 sq.cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Circumference of base = 2\pi r

We are given that The circumference of the base of a right circular cylinder is 308 CM

2\pi r = 308

2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times r = 308

r = 308 \times \frac{7}{22 \times 2 }

r = 49

Height of cylinder = 40 cm

Curved surface area of cylinder = 2 \pi rh = 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 40 \times 49 = 12320 cm^2

Hence  the curved surface area of the cylinder is 12320 sq.cm.
