GIVEN:

  • Circumference of the base of cylinder is 44 cm.
  • Height of the cylinder is 15 cm.

TO FIND:

  • What is the Volume of cylinder ?

SOLUTION:

Let the radius of the cylinder be 'r' cm.

We know that the formula of circumference of base of cylinder is :-

\large\bf{\star \: Circumference = 2 \pi r \: \star }

According to question:-

On putting the given values in the formula, we get

Take π = 22/7

\rm{\mapsto 44 = 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times r}

\rm{\mapsto 44 \times 7 = 2 \times 22 \times r}

\rm{\mapsto 308 = 44 \times r}

\rm{\mapsto r = \cancel\dfrac{308}{44}}

\bf{\mapsto \: \star \: r = 7 \: cm \: \star }

❝ The radius of the cylinder is 7 cm

Now, we have to find the Volume of the cylinder

To find the volume of cylinder, we use the formula:-

\large\bf{\star \: Volume = \pi r^2 h \: \star }

Put the values in the formula:

Take π = 22/7

\rm{\mapsto Volume = \frac{22}{7} \times (7)^2 \times 15}

\rm{\mapsto Volume = \frac{22}{\cancel{7}} \times \cancel{7} \times 7 \times 15}

\rm{\mapsto Volume = 22 \times 7 \times 15}

\bf{\mapsto \: \star \: Volume = 2310 \: cm^3 \: \: \star }

Hence, the volume of cylinder is 2310 cm³
