Answer:

Yes the cities of Dholavira and lothal give glimpses of Harappan culture .

Dholavira and lothal is in Gujarat (India )

DHOLAVIRA =

  • Dholavira's location is on the Tropic of Cancer. It is one of the five largest Harappan sites and most prominent archaeological sites in India belonging to the Indus Valley Civilization.
  • Dholavira is an amazing place - with fossilized wood dated back to the Jurassic period and the 2650BC Harappa village ruins.
  • Dholavira is the most spectacular IVC site in India and the fifth largest in the subcontinent in terms of areal coverage (Mohenjo Daro 250 hectare (Ha), Harappa 150 Ha, Rakhigarhi 80–105 Ha, Ganeriwala 81 Ha and Dholavira 70 Ha). It is the largest excavated Harappan site in India which can be seen by the tourists. All other sites were buried and covered up after the excavation was over. But Dholavira is unique because it records continuous settlement at one given place for over 1700 years from Pre‐Harappan to Late Harappan period. It shows excellent city planning, wide roads, architecture with geometric precisions, and craftsmanship.

LOTHAL =

  • Lothal is situated near the village of Saragwala in the Dholka Taluka of Ahmedabad district. It is six kilometres south-east of the Lothal-Bhurkhi railway station on the Ahmedabad-Bhavnagar railway line. It is also connected by all-weather roads to the cities of Ahmedabad (85 km/53 mi), Bhavnagar, Rajkot and Dholka.
  • Lothal is famous for the discovery of several ruins of Indus Valley Civilization. Lothal is located between the Sabarmati river and its tributary Bhogavo, in the Saurasthra region. ... Excavation was carried out at Lothal between 1955 and 1962, after which the site as well as the site museum were set up for tourists.
  • Lothal was a comparatively small town, and that the "dock" was actually an irrigation tank.[3] The controversy was finally settled when scientists from The National Institute of Oceonography, Goa discovered foraminifera (marine microfossils) and salt, gypsum crystals in the rectangular structure clearly indicating that sea water once filled the structure.[4]. Lothal was a vital and thriving trade centre in ancient times, with its trade of beads, gems and valuable ornaments reaching the far corners of West Asia and Africa.
