The city council is planning to construct a new wastewater treatment plant to regulate the amount of pollution currently seeping into the city’s lakes and streams. They plan to build the new treatment plant on the outskirts of the city by clearing a sizable piece of land in a forested area. How will both of these steps impact the city in the long run? A. Because of the urban heat island effect, less heat will be absorbed and regional temperatures will be slightly higher. B. The wastewater treatment plant will solve the city’s air pollution problems. C. The new plant will guarantee that the city’s drinking water will always be free from harmful pathogens. D. Water pollution will decrease, but the number of rock falls in the area will increase.

As plant is constructed it does reduce the water pollution thus by increasing the aquatic life in lakes and considerably reduce harmful pathogens also hence option C and D can be considered
