70x + 80y = 2800....(ii)

dividing (ii) by 10 on both sides

7x + 8y = 280...(iii)

multiplying (i) by 7 on both sides.

7x + 7y = 252...(iv)

subtracting (iv) from (iii)

y= 28.

therefore from (i)

x= 8
