Class marks are: 15,20,25,

Lower limit of class 20 is mean of 15 and 20=

2

15+20

=17.5

Upper limit of class 20 is the mean of 20 and 25=

2

20+25

=22.5

20 is the class mark for the class interval 17.5−22.5

To Find :  class corresponding to the class marks 14

Solution:

Class mark of a frequency distribution are 10 12 14 16  

There is a gap of 2 between 2 consecutive class marks

Hence class width = 2

Class interval   Class Mark - (class width)/2   to  Class Mark + (class width)/2

Class interval for class mark 14

14 -(2/2)  to  14 + (2/2)

= 13  to 15

Class Marks        Class interval

10                          9 - 11

12                           11 - 13

14                           13 - 15

16                           15 - 17

Hence  class corresponding to the class marks 14 is     13 - 15
