Explanation:

Since,the 2 Na atoms will donate 1,1 electron to Oxygen...And by getting two more electrons it will complete its Octect.

Since Oxgen gained 2 electrons....So it would acquire 2- charge.

And Na donate 1 electron..it will gain 1+ charge.

And thereby,A new compound will form

I.e,Na2O
