Piece of cloth required for.one student=1m 80cm=180cm
No of cloth can be stitched=total available cloth/cloth required for one student
=400/180
=2.222
Hence the tailor can make 2 shirts and 40cm cloth will be left

= 180cm

Amount of cloth tailor had = 40m
= 400cm

No. of shirts= amount of cloth tailor had/ amour of cloth required
= 400/180
=2.222

Therefore 2 shirts are 40 cm cloth will be left.
