Hi there !!

Cloth required to make 1 shirt = 1 metre 80 cm

1m = 100 cm

Cloth required to make 1 shirt = 100 + 80 = 180 cm

Also ,

Total amount of cloth available = 40 metres = 4000 cm

No: of shirts that can be stitched = Total amount of cloth available / amount of cloth

= 4000 / 180

= 22.22

= 22 shirts [ approx. ]

====================================================================

Amount of cloth required for 1 shirt = 180 cm

Amount of cloth required for 22 shirts = 22 x 180
= 3960 cm

Total cloth available = 4000 cm

Cloth remaining = Total cloth available - cloth required fro 22 shirts

= 4000 - 3960

= 40 cm
