Let us assume that the cost of a bat be ‘Rs x’

And,the cost of a ball be ‘Rs y’

According to the question, the algebraic representation is

3x+6y = 3900

And x+3y = 1300

For, 3x+6y = 3900

Or x = (3900-6y)/3

CORRECT QUESTION :-

The coach of a cricket team buys 3 bats and 6 balls for Rs.3900. Later, she buys another bat and 3 more balls of the same kind for Rs.1300

SOLUTION :-

Let ,

Cost of one bat = Rs x

Cost of one ball = Rs y

Now, According to question:-

CASE - I :-

The coach of a cricket team buys 3 bats and 6 balls for ₹ 3900

 \implies {\underline {\bold {\boxed {\sf {\pink{3x + 6y = 3900}}}}}} \:.............(1)

CASE - II :-

 \implies {\underline {\bold {\boxed {\sf {\pink{x + 3y = 1300}}}}}} \:.............(2)

OR   {\underline {\bold {\boxed {\sf {\blue{x + 3y = 1300}}}}}}

From (1),

We have

 \implies \sf \: x = (1300 - 3y) \\  \\  \implies \sf \:  3(1300 - 3y) + 6y = 3900 \\  \\  \implies \sf \: 3900 - 9y + 6y  =  3900 \\  \\  \implies \sf \cancel{ 3900 } - 9y + 6y =  \cancel{ 3900 } \\  \\  \implies \sf \: -3y = 0 \\  \\  \implies \sf \: y =  0  \\  \\  \implies {\underline {\boxed {\blue  {\sf{y = 0}}}}}

Put   {\underline {\bold {\boxed {\sf {\pink{y = 0}}}}}} in eq. (2)

we get,
