Answer

  • Loss % = 25 %

Given

  • The cost price of 24 fans is equal to the selling price of 32 fans [ Clearly it's loss ]

To Find

  • Loss %

Formula Used

\bf \bigstar \;\; Loss\ \%=\dfrac{Loss}{C.P}\times 100

Solution

Let the C.P of 24 fans = x

⇒ C.P of 1 fan = ˣ/₂₄

S.P of 32 fans = x

⇒ S.P of 1 fan = ˣ/₃₂

So , Loss = C.P - S.P

⇒ Loss = ˣ/₂₄ - ˣ/₃₂

⇒ Loss =  ( ⁴ˣ ⁻ ³ˣ  ) /₉₆

Loss = ˣ/₉₆

Let's calculate Loss % ,

\implies \rm  Loss\ \% =\dfrac{Loss}{C.P}\times 100\\\\\implies \rm Loss\ \%=\dfrac{\frac{x}{96}}{\frac{x}{24}}\\\\\implies \rm Loss\ \%=\dfrac{x}{96}\times \dfrac{24}{x}\times 100\\\\\implies \rm Loss\ \% =\dfrac{1}{4}\times 100\\\\\implies \rm Loss\ \% =25\ \%
