The Air, over Siberia cools creating a high pressure area north of the Himalayas.
This in turn creates winds that blow across India and out over the Indian ocean.
This wind system is called north-east monsoon which is responsible for most of the winter rainfall in the state of Tamilnadu in India.
These originate as dry winds ,pick up lot of moisture on its way from the Bay of Bengal and strike the east coast of Tamilnadu.
Some of the systems become cyclone also giving torrential rain and with strong winds.

Hello Friend.....⭐⭐⭐
⭐When it is winter in the northern hemisphere, areas closer to the North Pole are of course, colder than those away from it. As such, Siberian region becomes extremely cold and the regions to the south of Himalayas are comparatively warmer. This is also the reason why the Indian subcontinent gets so many migratory birds in winter- they come here to escape the extreme cold weather of Siberia region.
⭐Because of drastically low temperature in the Siberian region, pressure becomes high- as cool air sinks. It is just the opposite in the areas to the south of the Himalayas. Winds always blow from high pressure areas to low pressure areas. And these winds from Siberia- during their course- pick moisture from the Bay of Bengal and cause rainfall in Tamil Nadu. These winds are known as north-east monsoon and winter rainfall in Tamil Nadu is attributed to them.
