after cocoon formation by silkworm ( say bombix mori) the cocoon shoud be kept in boiling water so that the worm will die and we can collect cocoon without worm and sell it to silk production. if we don't do that then the silk worm will convert in moth ( as in butterflies) and remained cocoons are not of economical importance, moth gives eggs and dies. hence if we want silk, then above process is important
