Coefficient of real expansion of mercury,

 \gamma r =  \frac{0.00018}{c} \\

coefficient of apparent expansion of mercury,

 \gamma a =  \frac{0.00015}{c}

coefficient of volume expansion of glass=

 \gamma g

=>

 \gamma g =  \gamma r -  \gamma a \\  \gamma g = 0.00018 - 0.00015 = 0.00003

coefficient of linear expansion of glass

 \alpha g =   \frac{ \gamma g}{3}  \\  =  \alpha g =  \frac{0.00003}{3}  \\

= 0.00001 per°C

=1×10^-5 per °C
