The cold war produced an arms race as welas arms control. What were the reasons for.both these developments.?

Both the two blocs that is the US and and the USSR had to keep up with the military as well as technology and because both the blocs feared an attack by the other hence the Cold War produced an arms race as well as arms control. HOPE I HELPED :)
