Given:

The color of the curved area of a cylindrical bottle with a height of 20cm and radius 7 cm is green while the top and bottom circular parts are red.

To find:

How much area of this bottle is covered by green colour?

Solution:

The height of the cylindrical bottle, h = 20 cm

The radius of the cylindrical bottle, r = 7 cm

Since the curved area of the cylindrical bottle is coloured green

∴ The area of this bottle covered by green colour is,

= 2 \pi r h

= 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 7 \times 20

= 2 \times 22 \times 20

= \bold{880\:cm^2}

Thus, 880 m² of the area of this bottle is covered by green colour.
