In Ozymandias written by P.B Shelley, a traveller comes across a colossal wreck of a statue of a king who had had it made in order to show his power and might. He believed that he had everlasting power and that he would rule to world.

Now, as the traveller could only see a half suck colossal wreck with neither the king nor his authority proves that human pride and political power is ephemeral. The king who believed that he owned everlasting power and  authority only left a ruin of a statue. His apparent everlasting power was only there till he was alive or in rule.
