Hey there !
Solution:
The given statement is true.
The colour of a light ray is determined by it's wavelength. Also The colour is also related to the frequency of a wave
Wavelength and frequency are inversely related to each other.
Higher Wavelength = Lower Frequency
Lower Wavelength = Higher Frequency
This can be given by the formula,
- λ = c / v
Here λ represents, wavelength, c represents speed of light, v represents frequency of a wave.
Also since red has the longest wavelength it has the least frequency. Violet has least wavelength therefore large frequency.
Hope my answer helped !
