• Microscopic examination of Bacillus spores stained with Wirtz-Conklin modified spore stain, showed that Bacillus spores resuspended in water for up to 24 h, appeared as greenish-blue spheres (spores) (Figs 1a and 2a). In GE, some spores were stained pink (Fig. 1b) as early as 30 min after suspension.
