-Democracy involves competition among various political parties .
-Their competition tends to divide any society ,thus leading to conflicts, violence or even disintegration of the country.
-For example in northern Ireland,the protestants who contributed 53percent of the population were represented by unionists who wanted to remain with the united kingdom which is predominantly protestants where as Catholics 44 percent were represented by nationalists who demanded that northern Ireland be unified with the republic of Ireland ,a predominantly Catholic country
