p=  first term of  an A..P.

a_{n} = p+(n-1)k                ------ formula no.01

As given an =4 n+5

Putting value of an in formula no.01.

4 n+5=p+(n-1)k

4 n+5=(p-k )+n k

Comparing the coefficients  we get.

5=p-k  and k=4

p=9  and k=4

Therefore, first term p= 9   and  common difference k=4
