Given:

The complementary angles are in the ratio 1:5.

Find:

The measure of angles

Solution:

Let 'x' be the common in given ratios

One angle = x

Another angle = 5x

We know that,

The sum of complementary angles is 90°

=> x + 5x = 90

=> 6x = 90

=> x = 90/6

=> x = 15°

The value of 'x' is 15°.

Now,

One angle = x = 15°

Another angle = 5(15) = 75°

Hence, the measure of angles is 15° and 75°.

Important Information:

There are three types of angles:

  • acute angle-an angle between 0 and 90 degrees.
  • right angle-an 90 degree angle.
  • obtuse angle-an angle between 90 and 180 degrees.
  • straight angle-a 180 degree angle.

I hope it will help you.

Regards.

Answer:

let the ratio be x and 5x

x+5x=90 (sum of complementary angles)

6x=90

x=90/6

x =15

the measure of the angles are

x=15

5x = 75
