If the compound ratio of 5 : 8 and 3 : 7 is 45 : x. Find the value of x.

Compound ratio of 5:8 and 3:7 = 5/8 ? - 3/7 = 15/56.

Now product of extremes = Product of means => 15:56 :: 45:x => 15x = 2520 => 2520/15 = 168.

x = 168.

thanks ,;)

→ Here is ur questions answer:

√ Given ratios are:

(i) ⇔ 3:4

(ii) ⇔ inverse ratio of 4:5 is 5:4

⇒ 3 multiply 4:   4 multiply 5 =  45:x

12: 20 = 45:x

12/20=45/x

45 multiply 20/12=x

45 multiply 5/3 =x

15 multiply 5= x

∴  then , x=75
