HI DEAR

UR ANSWER IS HERE

(a) Paramagnetic substances are substances which are attracted by magnetic field. This is because they require very little amount of energy for electron transition. The energy can be easily provided by visible light. The colour observed corresponds to the complementary colour of light absorbed.

(b) The colour of a molecule does not depend on the whether the molecule is diamagnetic or paramagnetic. ... The reason is that the colour is caused by absorption of a photon in the visible part of the spectrum.

(c) Due to this all the remaining electron are paired in alkali metal ion so it is diamagnetic. All the orbital of alkali metal ion is full filled that is why it is highly stable so the electronic Transition cant take place easily hence the ions are colourless.

(d) However, the following two compounds are colourless due to the absence of unpaired electrons. ... However, the compound K2CrO4 is yellow although it has no unpaired electron and therefore, is diamagnetic. It is coloured due to the charge transfer (Cr+6, d0).
