Given:

The mass of Solution, (w + W) = 250 kg

The mass percentage of acetic acid = 40 %

To Find:

The Molality of the solution.

Calculation:

- Mass percentage is given as:

Mass % = (Mass of acetic acid/Total mass of solution) × 100

⇒ 40 = (w/250) × 100

⇒ w = 100 kg

- The mass of water, W = 250 - 100 = 150 kg

- Molar mass of acetic acid, M.wt = 60 gm

- The molality of the given solution:

m = w/(M.wt × W)

⇒ m = 100/(60 × 150)

⇒ m = 0.011 m

- So, the molality of the solution is 0.011 m.
