If Q꜀ > K꜀, the reaction will proceed in the direction of the reactants.

ie., reverse reaction

Know more :-

• If Q꜀ < K꜀, the reaction will proceed in the direction of the products. ie., forward reaction

• If Q꜀ = K꜀, the reaction mixture is already at equilibrium

• For a general reversible reaction :-

aA + bB ⇌ cC + dD

Equilibrium constant :-

 \sf K_c =  \dfrac{[ C] ^{c} \: [D] ^{d} }{[A]  ^{a} \: [B] ^{b} }

• For a general reaction :-

aA + bB → cC + dD

Reaction quotient :-

 \sf Q_c =  \dfrac{[ C] ^{c} \: [D]^ {d} }{[A]  ^{a} \: [B] ^{b} }

Given :-

The concentration quotient of the reversible reaction is Q and the equilibrium constant is K

To Find :-

What do you call closed if Q is greater than K

Solution :-

Here,

Concentration quotient = Q

Equilibrium constant = k

Type of reaction = Reversible reaction

Then,

Q > k

Know More :-

Reversible reaction - It is a type of reaction in which the reactants become products and products become reactants

Eg - NHO₂ ⇆ N⁺ + NO⁻₂
