let r be the radius of the base of conical tent

Now, 2 x pi x r = 44

 2 x 22/7 x r = 44

 r = 7 m  (part 1 complete)

c.s.a of the tent = pi x r x l = pi x 7 x √(49 + 100) = pi x 7 x √149 = 22√149 m2

22 x √149 = 2 x l

 l = 11√149 = 11 x 12.21 = 134.31 m approx

Hence the required length of the canvas = 134.21 m
