Rahul Gandhi has officially resigned as the Congress party President taking the responsibility for the party’s defeat in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

Rahul on Wednesday tweeted his resignation letter. He also thanked his fellow Congressmen and expressed his gratitude that he had the opportunity to serve the party.

“It is an honour for me to serve the Congress Party, whose values and ideals have served as the lifeblood of our beautiful nation”, Rahul tweeted, with a four-pager resignation letter.

“I am responsible for the loss of the 2019 election. Accountability is critical for the future growth of our party. It is for this reason that I have resigned as Congress President”, his resignation letter reads.
