1. They provide consumer every basic needs such as consumer courts
2. The consumer redressal process is becoming cumberstome, expensive and time consuming but after the movement it has developed much.
3. A consumer has now right to complain,seek redressal,right to be informed,right to choose and right to represent.

the consumer protection act of 1986 empowers consumers in every possible manner.
1.The act ensures certain rights to the consumers in order to protect them from unfair trade practices.
2. It also ensures consumers protection against products which can be hazardous to life and property.
for eg-.pressure cookers- they have safety valves , which if it is defective can cause serious accident.The manufacturer of valves have to assure high quality.
3.It ensures that consumers are informed about the particulars of the product and also it is the duty of the manufacturer to give information about the product.
4.Consumers can also complain and ask for compensation or replacement if the product proves to be defective in any manner.
5.Sellers cannot force the consumers to buy a certain product or service . Consumers can also reject to continue any service even if they have began it.
